Sponsorship Executive

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Sponsorship Executive to join our small, friendly team and be a big part of our growth!

The company

White October Events will shortly be celebrating its 6 year anniversary having grown from a small start-up into a well established and respected events company running technology conferences across the UK, Europe and America.

We’re not an events agency. We design and run our own conferences – everything from coming up with a concept to researching the market, programming the content, inviting the speakers, building the website, selling the tickets and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day! We run conferences in collaboration with industry leaders and brands to create ambitious, content-focused and engaging conferences for the digital industries.

The job

This newly created role is to support the Sponsorship Manager across the growing portfolio of international technology conferences ranging from 150 to 1000+ people. The Sponsorship Executive will play a pivotal role in the growth of sponsorships and the business as a whole and will work very closely with the Sponsorship Manager to bring in and build on new and existing business. The role will be varied, fast-paced and very rewarding!

You will work closely with a great team of ambitious individuals who work hard together but also have a lot of fun along the way! As a fully collaborative team, you will gain insight into the whole events cycle from creation, marketing to delivery. Role responsibilities:

  • Generate sponsorship leads through research, cold calling, email marketing and sourcing via various other channels
  • In-depth research into the communities and locations where we hold our conferences and the businesses that could be potential sponsors
  • Be active on social media as a way to research and generate new leads
  • Develop, maintain and expand relationships with clients across the global technology industry
  • Build your own portfolio of clients, leading to future account management opportunities
  • Contribute innovative and creative ideas to build exciting packages for our sponsors
  • Manage Salesforce (our chosen customer relationship management database), keeping it up to date and tracking sales activity
  • Support clients on-site at conferences to help deliver outstanding client satisfaction
  • Provide input into sponsorship and marketing collateral, working closely with the Marketing Team and the wider organisation
  • General sponsorship administration

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident with conversations on the phone and face-to-face
  • Comfortable generating leads from new business
  • Proactive and creative in thinking of new ways to generate leads
  • Happy working to targets
  • Naturally self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic
  • Highly ambitious and dynamic
  • Well organised - able to prioritise tasks and manage their time efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A quick learner - with a genuine interest in technology and business trends
  • Motivated to build strong relationships
  • Happy to work flexible hours for selling to the US
  • Cares about the things we care about: working hard, going the extra mile and treating people with kindness and respect
  • Wants to work as part of a small but ambitious team running seriously great events in the UK and beyond

It would be ideal if you had at least one year of sales experience and some experience in the events industry but this is not a requirement.

For this role, we’re more interested in your skills and mindset than in your specific education and experience. The job would definitely suit a recent marketing or events management graduate, but we don’t require you to have a degree, nor do you need to have prior events experience.
